The Philadelphia Eagles are in a divisional battle with the New York Giants in Week 9, and both teams are trying to pick up a pivotal win. For the Giants, they're trying to stay at the top of the NFC East, while the Eagles want to get out of their slump after all the injuries they've been through during the season.
Before halftime, the Eagles were giving themselves a good chance in the game, and it was due to special teams. After going 3-and-out on offense, the Eagles had to punt, and Braden Mann had the challenge of doing it in their own end zone. It was no problem for Mann, and he ended up launching an 86-yard punt, which is one of the longest the league has ever seen.
Surprisingly, it wasn't the longest in franchise history, as Randall Cunningham had a 91-yard punt in 1989, according to Dave Zangaro of NBCS Philly.
More on this story to come.
