With the Kansas City Chiefs on the way to beating the New York Jets on Sunday, the team has dealt with injury concerns during the contest for key players. While Patrick Mahomes sustained an elbow injury for the Chiefs in the contest against the Jets, though he would return to the game, another player who dealt with an issue is wide receiver Xavier Worthy, reinforcing the need at the position ahead of Tuesday's trade deadline.
Reported by NFL insider Mike Garafolo, Worth was seen hobbling off the field after he was seen “grabbing the back of his leg.” Before being injured, he caught all six of his targets for 48 yards.
“Chiefs WR Xavier Worthy is injured, grabbing the back of his leg as he hobbles off,” Garafolo wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
As mentioned by James Palmer, Kansas City has been known to be showing interest in acquiring a wide receiver ahead of the trade deadline, making the Worthy injury highlight the team's need.
“The Chiefs have been calling on WRs for weeks, and now Xavier Worthy goes down grabbing his hamstring,” Palmer wrote on X. “It was likely KC would add a WR before Tuesday.”
More information to come.
