Monday Night Football could be the game of the week when the Buffalo Bills (3-1) and Los Angeles Rams (2-2) meet at SoFi Stadium. Buffalo is coming off their first loss of the season versus the Patriots (29-26), while the Rams needed a 14-point fourth quarter to beat the Eagles (24-20). The last time the Bills and Rams met, Los Angeles won 44-42, and Matthew Stafford and Josh Allen combined for five touchdowns and 662 passing yards!

Buffalo has had one heck of a two weeks. The Bills escaped the Chargers (24-16) amid five turnovers as it marked the first time Buffalo won a game with five turnovers since 1997. Then the following week (last week), the Bills turned the ball over twice and were outgained 405-340 in yards to the Patriots. Josh Allen is responsible for five of the Bills seven turnovers in that two-game span, and he’s thrown three interceptions in three meetings with the Rams. Allen’s No. 1 receiver DJ Moore (shoulder) hasn’t practiced all week and if he’s out, they’ll look for back-to-back big games from Khalil Shakir and Keon Coleman. Shakir led Buffalo with seven receptions versus New England for 82 yards and Coleman recorded the second-most yards in his career at 116, along with his first touchdown of the year. The Bills versus Rams is tied for the highest game total of the week at 54.5. Buffalo leads the NFL with 31.8 points per game and their games have combined for 58.2 points per game.

The Rams are searching for their first winning streak of the season as they’ve alternated wins and losses to start the year. Los Angeles rallied in the second half last week at Philadelphia to get the 24-20 win. Los Angeles trailed 20-10 at the half, then the fourth quarter happened. Philadelphia went for a 4th and goal on the two-yard line and didn’t convert. Los Angeles went 98 yards the other way in 10 plays to cut the lead to three before a quick three-and-out and another Rams touchdown (79-yard drive) sealed the game. It was a sweet ending for the Rams after losing in the final minute of Week 3 to the Broncos (30-26), but there’s no time to celebrate with the Bills in town.

Let’s dive into the numbers and see if we can’t find an additional sweat or two.

Expert picks & predictions for Bills at Rams

Vaughn Dalzell (@VmoneySports) leans Matthew Stafford’s Unders:

“After 106 pass attempts and 707 passing yards in the last two games, it might be time to capitalize on Matthew Stafford’s Unders. His prop lines are 37.5 pass attempts and 285.5 yards against Buffalo, which on the surface sounds correct. Although, if Kyren Williams and/or Blake Corum find running lanes, Stafford’s numbers could fall far short of that.

The Bills also run the 12th-highest zone coverage at 77.9% on the season and Stafford has subpar numbers against zone coverage. Stafford ranks 31st in catchable pass rate versus zone (69.1%), 26th in completion percentage against zone (64.9%), and has the 33rd-ranked passer rating versus zone (78.9). The Cardinals run the eighth-most zone (79.9%), so these next two games against Buffalo and Arizona are probably good spots to sell high and go Under on Stafford’s props.”

Quarterback matchup for Bills at Rams

· Buffalo: Josh Allen – In the last two games, Allen has three rushing touchdowns, and one passing score to three interceptions compared to four rushing touchdowns in the first two games and a 5:0 TD to INT ratio. His play has obviously declined and the Buffalo offense has been turnover prone with five against the Chargers (24-16 win) and two versus the Patriots (29-26). Allen has been responsible for five of those seven turnovers. Through four games, Allen ranks 13th or worse in every advanced accuracy metric and outside the top 10 for completion percentages, QB rating, and catchable rate versus man and zone coverages, per PlayerProfiler. Despite the two-game dip in production, Allen is still the favorite to win MVP at +250 odds.

· Los Angeles: Matthew Stafford – Stafford enters the week fourth in passing yards at 1,189, but has has tossed the second-most interceptions (6) after throwing eight interceptions in each of the last two years. Stafford’s age (38) is showing this season after winning MVP last year. Stafford is coming off 317 passing yards in a comeback win over the Eagles, but threw two interceptions on 32-of-51 (62.8%). Stafford has thrown at least one interception in four-straight games and has 106 pass attempts in the past two games. That 106 mark is the most passes he’s thrown in a back-to-back game since 107 in November and December of 2012. I’ll be interested to see if the Rams attempt to get the run game going early and control the clock to avoid Stafford putting up another 40-50 pass attempts in a shootout with Josh Allen.
