The Cincinnati Bengals recently suffered their second straight loss with a narrow home defeat at the hands of the red-hot Jacksonville Jaguars. Things went from bad to worse in this game when star wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase went down with a concussion after being violently ripped to the ground by his facemask in a play that drew the most obvious penalty in recent memory.

Now, the team has gotten the latest update on Chase's status moving forward.

“Ja'Marr Chase remains in the concussion protocol. Tee Higgins will be limited. No Cook and Dugger in practice today,” reported Charlie Goldsmith of FOX19 on X, formerly Twitter.

Indeed, Cincinnati's number two wide receiver, Tee Higgins, also went down later in the game, but the fact that he was at least a limited participant in Wednesday's practice is a solid sign.

Meanwhile, Chase had been having another epic start to this season thus far, continuing to stake his claim as the best wide receiver in the game today, even after a relatively pedestrian first few games for quarterback Joe Burrow.

The Bengals themselves started out with two impressive wins to open up the year, but have since cratered back to 2-2, and if Chase is forced to miss game action with the concussion, that record could continue to spiral.

The good news for Cincinnati is that their next game is against what many consider to be the worst team in the NFL, the Miami Dolphins, on Sunday. Kickoff is set for 1:00 pm ET from South Beach.
