The Chicago Bears dominated the New York Jets on Sunday, and linebacker Devin Bush even had extra time to relax during the team's big win.
Chicago beat New York 23-12 at Soldier Field. The win moved the Bears to 3-1 in the 2026 NFL season. Furthermore, the Bears controlled both sides of the ball. In particular, their offense kept the Jets' defense on the field for much of the game.
After the game, Bush joked that the afternoon was easy for Chicago's defense.
“One of the easiest NFL games I ever played in. I’m not sore at all,” Bush said, per CHGO Bears, which is part of the ALLCITY Network.
He also said he started to get bored on the sideline during the game.
It’s easy to see why.

Chicago's offense held the ball for 42 minutes and 45 seconds. In contrast, New York had it for only 17 minutes and 15 seconds. Additionally, the Bears outgained the Jets 492 to 157 in total yards. Finally, Chicago had 34 first downs to New York's seven.
While the Bears' offense wore down New York's defense, Bush and the Chicago defense, meanwhile, spent little time on the field.
Running back Kyle Monangai led the way. Specifically, he rushed for 146 yards and two touchdowns on 30 carries. Meanwhile, quarterback Tyson Bagent also played well in his first start since 2023.
Bush's comments summed up how unusual Sunday's win was. Usually, defensive players face a lot of time on the field against the other team's offense.
However, because Chicago controlled the ball so well, Bush finished the game feeling fresh rather than tired.
The Bears will be happy with that kind of performance as they keep building momentum under head coach Ben Johnson.
