The Chiefs beat divisional foe Las Vegas on the road in Week 4, but it didn't come without setbacks as receiver Tyquan Thornton's injury made headlines. Fellow wideout Rashee Rice also suffered a non-contact injury that gave fans pause and led to a post-game update.

Nick Jacobs of KSHB41 News of Kansas City shared Chiefs coach Andy Reid's update on the situation involving Rice's setback.

“Andy Reid said that Rashee Rice tweaked his hamstring,” Jacobs wrote.

Rice came into the game with nearly 200 receiving yards but caught just one pass on the day. The Chiefs' passing game was solid with over 200 yards from star QB Patrick Mahomes, and the running game was also strong as Kenneth Walker III ran for two scores and nearly 200 yards.

With Thornton and Rice both ailing, prized offseason acquisition Eric Bienemy will be tasked with getting creative heading into Kansas City's bye week before October 18's game against the winless Chargers. Thornton had five catches for 111 yards and two touchdowns while speed merchant Xavier Worthy had four catches for 70 yards.

Star tight end Travis Kelce and position mate Noah Gray became forgotten men in the Chiefs' offense, catching four passes combined for 32 yards combined.

The Chiefs' receiving room isn't as strong without Thornton and Rice, but Bienemy and Mahomes have plenty of options should they decide to get creative on the play-call sheet. Kansas City is one of the deepest teams in the league, and that depth extends to Mahomes' receiving corps. Thornton and Rice will have time to heal, but for now, the Chiefs will savor their big win and hope for better days ahead on the trainer's table.
