The Chicago Bears are currently gearing up for their upcoming Week 6 game against the Atlanta Falcons on the road. The Bears are coming off an ugly road loss to the Green Bay Packers over the weekend in what was the third straight game that quarterback Caleb Williams had missed due to a hamstring injury.

However, on Wednesday, the team got a positive update on Williams' status heading into the matchup vs Atlanta.

“#Bears QB Caleb Williams will be a full participant on today's estimated injury report, coach Ben Johnson tells reporters. A sign his return is coming,” reported Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network on X, formerly Twitter.

It's certainly a positive sign for Williams' potential availability on Sunday in Atlanta.

The Bears got off to a strong start to their chunk of games without Williams, defeating the Philadelphia Eagles and New York Jets in comfortable fashion; however, Sunday's rough game against the Packers, which saw Tyson Bagent ultimately get benched, made it clear that the team needs Williams back sooner rather than later.

Chicago still sits in a solid position overall with a record of 3-2, and the Falcons did prove that they are more than capable of losing to a backup quarterback when they dropped a game to Tyler Huntley and the Baltimore Ravens over the weekend.

It will be interesting to see if Williams has much rust to shake off if he does indeed return this weekend.

In any case, kickoff between the Bears and Falcons is set for Sunday at 1:00 pm ET.
