Someone should call the fire department because Dallas Wings guard Arike Ogunbowale is still aflame after her fiery performance against the Golden State Valkyries in Game 2 of their first-round series in the playoffs on Wednesday.
Ogunbowale went Human Torch on the Valkyries, scoring a career-high 45 points to lead the Wings to the hard-earned victory in overtime, 108-100, and force a winner-take-all. She added seven rebounds, four assists, and three steals. She shot 12-of-23 from the field, including 5-of-8 from long distance. She went 16-of-18 from the free-throw line.
The 29-year-old guard also set a league record for most points in a game in the playoffs, as noted by ESPN's Alexa Philippou.
Ogunbowale surpassed the 42-point record shared by Minnesota Lynx forward Napheesa Collier, New York Liberty forward Breanna Stewart, and WNBA legend Angela McCoughtry.
