The Los Angeles Rams could really use a win in Week 2. LA did not enjoy their trip to Australia last week and need to get back in the win column. That looks like a real possibility in Week 2, especially if the Rams get one of their most legendary defensive players back.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport gave another update on veteran defensive tackle Aaron Donald before Week 2. It sounds like Donald could make his Rams return on Monday Night Football.

“For Aaron Donald, my understanding is the hope and belief is that he makes his debut again with the Los Angeles Rams on Monday Night Football,” Rapoport said on Friday via SportsCenter. “It is not for sure. He wants to make sure this week that he gets through it okay. But a home game, the nation watching against the Giants. He was close last week. Aaron Donald hopes to be out there on Monday.”

As Rapoport noted, Donald is no sure thing to play in Week 2. Rams head coach Sean McVay told reporters that Donald and the medical team will evaluate him throughout the days leading up to Monday Night Football. That suggests that Donald is likely to play, so long as he does not suffer any setbacks in his ramp-up period.

If Donald returns, he'll give the Rams more depth on the interior alongside Kobie Turner, Braden Fiske, and Poona Ford. That would give LA even more pass rush juice up the middle, making their whole defense even more dangerous.

Unfortunately, fans still have to wait to see Donald and Myles Garrett playing together. Garrett is now officially on injured reserve and will miss the next four games at least.

It will be exciting to see how Donald plays whenever he makes his NFL return. Hopefully it is sooner rather than later.
