Philadelphia 76ers forward LeBron James has always loved playing in the Big Apple. He has had iconic moments against the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden, and he is raring to add more in his 24th season.
James is probably picturing how he would score his first bucket at Madison Square Garden as a member of the 76ers. The 76ers will visit the Knicks on opening night on October 20.
Everything could have been the opposite had the 42-year-old forward signed with the Knicks in free agency. New York showed interest in signing James, but it did not materialize, obviously. Still, the four-time will always have a home in New York—literally.
In an interview with ESPN, he confirmed that he will shuffle between “multiple residences” in Philadelphia and New York during his stint with the 76ers.

There have been rumors that the four-time MVP will take a helicopter on game days.
In a bombshell revelation, James said he envisioned ending his career with the Knicks. He, however, had to scrap the idea after the Knicks won the NBA Finals, anticipating the backlash he would get for joining a championship squad.
Hence, he chose Philadelphia, where he has a strong chance to capture his fifth ring before he rides off into the sunset, teaming up with Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, Jaylen Brown, and VJ Edgecombe.
James will likely have a lighter load with the 76ers, which would help preserve his body for the playoffs. Although knowing the NBA's all-time leading scorer, he will never coast against the Knicks, especially in New York.
