After the 2016 Cleveland Cavaliers championship reunion tour, LeBron James is back with his new golf tour. The Philadelphia 76ersâ star forward is enjoying another golf outing with his teammates from St. Vincent-St. Mary High School.
James recently uploaded a video to his newfound YouTube channel, in which all the members of âÂÂFab 5' joined for a golf scramble in Akron, Ohio. In the video, Romeo Travis, LeBron's childhood basketball teammate and longtime Akron associate, is shown attempting the shot while the group reacts with smiles, fist pumps, and laughter on the course.
LeBron couldnâÂÂt contain his emotions and started laughing uncontrollably at the way Travis was swinging his golf club. The group also includes Sian Cotton, Dru Joyce III, and Willie McGee alongside James and Travis.
Additionally, Travis joined the Cavaliers as a guest coach for their Summer League training camp. His appearance came at the time when the Cavs were linked with James during free agency. Many thought it was a connection to a probable return for the 22-time NBA All-Star at that time, which eventually ended in LeBron joining the 76ers.
The Akron native spent his high school career alongside James before beginning his college career at the University of Akron in 2003. The former forward played for Akron through 2007 and finished sixth on the programâÂÂs all-time scoring list.
Travis then began a 14-year professional career overseas that lasted from 2007 through 2021. He also has previous ties to the Cavaliers, having played for ClevelandâÂÂs Summer League teams in 2007 and 2008.
Cleveland already has several members of its basketball operations and development staff with ties to Akron and St. Vincent-St. Mary, including Assistant General Manager Brandon Weems.
