The Philadelphia 76ers are currently just hours away from kicking off their 2026-27 NBA season on the road vs the New York Knicks. The 76ers' signing of LeBron James in free agency got most of the headlines this offseason, but the precursor to that was their trade for Jaylen Brown of the Boston Celtics, which immediately signaled that big changes were in store.
Brown has long been known for his eclectic personality, and recently, Brown spoke to rapper Lil Baby on “The Last Ten” and revealed his taste in music.
“I got a harpist who comes and plays like twice a week while the sun is going down and the chef is in the kitchen,” he said, per Christian Clark of The Athletic.
Meanwhile, on the court, Brown is in a bit of an awkward spot this year. His falling out with the Celtics seemed to stem from the fact that he was happier being the number one option last year in Jayson Tatum's injury absence, as Brown went on social media and liked posts flat-out stating that he was the Celtics' best player.
However, now he will be forced to take an arguably even bigger demotion in the pecking order while playing next to James, Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, and VJ Edgecombe, and it will be fascinating to see how head coach Nick Nurse tries to make all of these dynamic pieces come together.
Article Continues BelowThe 76ers will get a big test on Tuesday in the form of the Knicks, the team that swept them out of the NBA playoffs last year and proceeded to lose just one more game en route to the championship.
Tipoff between New York and Philadelphia is slated for Tuesday at 7:00 pm ET.
