The Dolphins parted ways with a lot of veteran players heading into the 2026 season, but defensive tackle Zach Sieler was not one of them.
Sieler joined the team in 2019, which makes him an outlier on a team that is rebuilding under new head coach Jeff Hafley and General Manager Jon-Erik Sullivan. That work has not resulted in any wins yet and the direction of the franchise has led some to wonder if Sieler could be on the move before the November 10 trade deadline.
Sieler said on Monday that he hasn’t paid attention to that discussion and that his choice would be to stay put.
“I love it here. I’ve been here for how long? I want to win here as a Dolphin,” Sieler said, via a transcript from the team. “I think Hafley, Sully have done an amazing job here. I’m excited to see this team growing and where we’re going and get some wins.”
Sieler has no guaranteed money left on his deal after this season, which should make him more appealing to teams in the market for help on their defensive line. One of those teams would have to make an offer that’s more appealing to the Dolphins than what Sieler brings to the table for anything to happen and Sieler’s feelings may not be a major factor if such an offer is presented to the team.
