The Vanderbilt Commodores got positive news regarding the availability of their quarterback Jared Curtis ahead of their Week 6 matchup against the No. 9 Ole Miss Rebels this weekend.
Curtis is going through the freshman campaign of his collegiate career with the Commodores. He started in two of the four contests, going 1-1 so far. He completed 63 out of 98 passes for 746 yards and four touchdowns and three interceptions while rushing 41 times for 133 yards and two touchdowns.
Curtis suffered an injury after Week 4, resulting in him missing Vanderbilt's Week 5 clash with Georgia. Despite this, the absence is temporary as he is set to return to action against Ole Miss, per 247Sports insider Matt Zenitz.
“Vanderbilt QB Jared Curtis is expected to return to action and start for the Commodores against No. 9 Ole Miss Saturday, sources tell @CBSSports. The five-star true freshman had missed last week’s game vs. Georgia due to an injury,” Zenitz wrote.

Can paint all different corners of the field as he generates easy torque with a rapid and upper-body heavy release. Likes to operate from a sturdy base, but is more than capable of serving up accurate off-platform tosses with his balance,” 247Sports Scouting Director Andrew Ivins wrote in 2025.
“Frequently drops the elbow and finds throwing lanes in the face of pressure as he extends plays with his pocket awareness and slick athleticism. Played some running back during his youth and that makes him dangerous on both designed runs and scrambles as he can power his way through defenders.”
The Commodores will look forward to their next matchup, being at home. They host the No. 9 Rebels in Week 6 as kickoff commences on Oct. 10 at 3:30 p.m. ET.
