There was a moment during the San Francisco 49ers' 32-29 Week 5 win over the Seattle Seahawks that led to Dre Greenlaw being ejected from the game after the star linebacker was seen head-butting a helmet-less Ernest Jones IV early in the contest. On Monday, the league announced that Greenlaw is now suspended for one game.
Reports indicate that the 29-year-old will be unavailable for the club's Week 6 matchup against the Washington Commanders without pay, according to NFL insider Tom Pelissero. It's said that the head-butt incident violated the league's unsportsmanlike conduct policy, resulting in a one-game absence.
“49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw has been suspended without pay for one game for an act of unsportsmanlike conduct during Sunday’s game against the Seattle Seahawks,” Pelissero reported.
