The Texas Longhorns welcomed the Florida Gators to Darrell K Royal Stadium in Austin, Texas and lost 27-24 causing QB Arch Manning to get brutally honest about his performance. Colin Cowherd said the quiet part loud about the disappointing loss as fans began digesting another lackluster performance from Steve Sarkisian's team.

The Longhorns' loss could be pinned on any number of players and coaches, including Sarkisian who has a knack for stealing defeat from the jaws of victory. Defensive coordinator Will Muschamp's unit gave up 24 points to a Gators team that most observers felt was not as talented as the Longhorns by a long shot.

Florida coach Jon Sumrall trolled the Longhorns after the win, adding to a frustrating day.

Player-wise, there are several to point the finger at for the Longhorns' loss including the golden-armed former five-star prospect Manning.

Player to blame #1 – Arch Manning

Manning had a costly fumble late in the game with Texas down by three. Florida ran out the clock from there, making Manning the scapegoat instead of the hero yet again.

Manning passed for 173 yards and a touchdown but the late-game mistake is inexcusable for a player with national championship winning, first overall draft pick expectations. The grandson of Archie Manning and nephew of Peyton Manning played fairly well throughout the game, but coughed the ball up when his team needed him the most.

It was a glaring error that can't be ignored considering Texas lost the game.

Player to blame #2- Cam Coleman

Coleman had three catches for 18 yards and a touchdown but it still wasn't quite what fans expected after his hot start to the season. Florida has plenty of speed and talent in its defensive backfield but that's no excuse for Coleman not to thrive on a day when the Longhorns' running game was efficient.

The ‘Horns' offense was boosted by the running game as Raleek Brown and Daylan Smothers ran for 99 yards on 20 carries including a touchdown from Brown but Coleman and the receivers didn't perform up to their capabilities.

Coleman and Manning need to spend extra time working on their connection this coming week in practice to make sure their production increases.

Player to blame #3: Ryan Wingo

Wingo was present and accounted for with five catches for 49 yards but it wasn't the big game fans expected from the Texas Longhorns veteran. Longhorns fans are used to Wingo coming up big in big moments but he simply didn't do enough to help his team win against the Gators.

Wingo, Manning and Coleman have all been around the game of college football long enough to know that big games like Week 7's against the Gators require more than average performances to win, and that's exactly what all three guys were: average, or below average.

Wingo, Manning and Coleman are Texas' big three when it comes to the passing game and each guy was made to look ordinary against an opportunistic Brad White-led Florida defense. The Manning fumble was the coup de grace as the Longhorns fell to 4-2 on the season.

Florida moved to 5-2, giving head coach Jon Sumrall's team a leg up on the ‘Horns in the race for SEC and College Football Playoff positioning. The Longhorns defense also deserves plenty of blame, but the offense has the name recognition and talent to shoulder the blame when things don't go well.

Sarkisian and Muschamp are also among the scapegoats as fans continue to digest what went wrong. It was an unfortunate outcome for a team of players that have given their blood, sweat and tears to bring a national title back to Austin, but this game will be remembered more for the blown opportunity than anything else unless things change in a hurry for Sarkisian's team.
