Game 1 of the WNBA Finals was highly competitive, but the Golden State Valkyries emerged victorious over the Atlanta Dream with a 68-64 win. Gabby Williams led the way for Golden State with 26 points, while Allisha Gray — who was questionable to play before being made available — had 19 points for Atlanta. Meanwhile, Angel Reese turned in a strong 14-point, 12-rebound double-double. After the game, Reese revealed what she is planning on doing following the defeat, via Winsidr.

“Yeah, just going back into the film room and figuring out things that we messed up on, things that we can be better at,” Reese told reporters.

Reese had a quiet second half following a big first half. When asked about that after the game, Reese said she simply wasn't aggressive enough from an offensive standpoint, via ClutchPoints.

“I don't think they (Valkyries) really did anything (to slow her down in the second half). Maybe that was just on me,” Reese said. “I wasn't aggressive enough with the ball… So, definitely going to do a better job of that next game.”

The Dream still kept things competitive on the road. They are certainly still in the series. Bouncing back as soon as possible will be of the utmost importance, of course. It goes without saying, but avoiding an 0-2 deficit is the goal.

Game 2 of the WNBA Finals between the Dream and Valkyries is scheduled for Monday night at 8 PM ET in San Francisco as Angel Reese will look to lead Atlanta to a crucial win on the road.
