The New Orleans Pelicans have waived guard Kobe Bufkin and forward Jalon Moore, the team announced Saturday. The moves leave the franchise with 18 players on its roster, including three two-way players.

Bufkin, selected 15th overall by the Atlanta Hawks in the 2023 NBA Draft, appeared in three preseason games for New Orleans. The 6-foot-4 guard averaged 5.0 points and 1.0 rebounds in 7.8 minutes per contest.

Across three NBA seasons with the Hawks and the Los Angeles Lakers, Bufkin played 43 games, including one start. He averaged 4.2 points, 1.6 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 10.2 minutes per game.

The 23-year-old previously played college basketball for Michigan, earning third-team All-Big Ten recognition in 2023. His professional career has included multiple roster changes, along with opportunities in the NBA G League.

During the 2025-26 season, Bufkin spent time with the South Bay Lakers before receiving NBA opportunities with the Memphis Grizzlies and Lakers. He eventually signed a standard two-year contract with Los Angeles in February 2026 but was waived on April 10.

Bufkin later joined the Pelicans for the 2026 NBA Summer League and produced a 30-point performance in the team's opening game, adding six rebounds, two assists and one block while shooting 5-for-9 from three-point range. He subsequently signed a one-year contract with New Orleans before being waived.

Meanwhile, Moore's departure follows a summer league stint with the Pelicans. The 6-foot-7 forward appeared in three games in Las Vegas, averaging 6.0 points and 4.0 rebounds in 19.3 minutes per game.

Moore entered the draft process after suffering a torn Achilles tendon before the 2025 NBA Draft. The injury preceded his opportunity to compete for a spot on New Orleans' roster.
