Texas Tech is set to open conference play on Friday night as they host Houston. Three key players for Texas Tech were listed on the initial availability report, including linebacker Trey White and tight end Terrance Carter Jr.

Now, an update on Carter and White has been given, per Pete Thamel of ESPN.

“There’s increasing optimism at Texas Tech for the availability of both star tight end Terrance Carter and EDGE Trey White against Houston on Friday, per ESPN sources. A final decision won’t be until near game time after they warm up,” Thamel posted on X, formerly Twitter.
