The Gunners have not displayed their scintillating form of the past in recent weeks, but they have shown on occasion this season how to get over the line despite not being at their best.

The Premier League leaders, who sit two points ahead of Manchester City, are looking to reach the last four of the Carabao Cup for a second year running.

And they face a Crystal Palace team who are in the midst of a gruelling fixture pile-up – which has seen them win three out of their last eight matches in all competitions.

Tuesday’s match will be Palace’s fourth match in nine days and the schedule appears to be taking its toll on Oliver Glasner’s side.

The Palace boss has made changes to his starting line-up in the last two games which saw his side held to a 2-2 draw in the UEFA Conference League by Finnish outfit KuPS.

And that was followed up by a 4-1 defeat at Leeds 48 hours later with Glasner likely to be missing up to seven players for the trip to north London.

Arsenal vs Crystal Palace: Team news

Both Arsenal and Crystal Palace are missing a host of players ahead of Tuesday’s cup tie.

The Gunners will be without centre-back Gabriel as he steps up his recovery from an adductor injury.

The Brazilian is expected to return before the end of the year, but Tuesday’s clash is likely to fall too soon.

Arsenal will still be without long-term absentee Kai Havertz while Ben White will be missing until the new year with a hamstring injury.

Boss Mikel Arteta will also be without Cristhian Mosquera while teenage prodigy Max Dowman is out with an ankle issue.

Arteta may opt to tinker with his line-up with Gabriel Jesus and Christian Norgaard expected to feature.

Kepa Arrizabalaga could be handed a rare start in goal in place of David Raya.

Meanwhile, Crystal Palace have a host of absentees with Ismaila Sarr on AFCON duty with Senegal.

Daniel Munoz and Daichi Kamada remain on the sidelines with respective knee and hamstring injuries.

Glasner will be unable to call upon Rio Cardines, Chadi Riad, and Caleb Kporha while Cheick Doucoure is a long-term absentee.

Arsenal vs Crystal Palace: Head to head and history

Tuesday’s cup tie will be the second meeting between the two clubs this season with the previous match taking place at the Emirates in October.

On that occasion, ex-Palace hero Eberechi Eze netted the only goal of the game against his former side as Arsenal claimed a 1-0 victory.

Arsenal wins: 36

Crystal Palace wins: 6

Draws: 17
