Arsenal told linked Premier League winger is an upgrade on Leandro Trossard
Arsenal have been told it would be an upgrade to their wide options if they were to sign Anthony Gordon in the summer.
The Gunners have been linked to Gordon over the last week, with reports suggesting a big-money move could be coming.

Mikel Arteta is said to be a huge fan of the former Everton winger and he may make an approach to bring him to the Emirates.
Two years ago, Gordon came close to joining Liverpool, but he later signed a new contract at Newcastle through until 2028 instead.
Liverpool are also linked with the 25-year-old, along with Manchester United, however, Arsenal look to be leading the race.
And host of talkSPORT’s Sunday Edition, Henry Winter, believes if they do sign him, he’d be an upgrade on their current wingers.
Winter said on Sunday morning: “Arsenal have even been linked with Anthony Gordon this week…
“But don’t you think he’ll go to Liverpool anyway if he was going to go anywhere…he’s been linked with them before.
“He would fit into Arsenal on the left because Leandro Trossard is good…Trossard’s decent, [Gabriel] Martinelli is decent.
“But Gordon, I would say, is an upgrade on them.”
As things stand though, talkSPORT understands that Newcastle have no plans to cash in on the England international.
And his Magpies deal is not thought to have a release clause.

Gordon vs Trossard
Gordon has scored double the number of goals as Trossard this season, having netted 14 times in all competitions.
But he actually has less than the Arsenal star in the Premier League, only scoring three goals in the top-flight so far.
Trossard has five league goals to his name and seven in all competitions, with the other two coming in the Carabao Cup and Champions League.
And it’s the Champions League where Gordon has shown his best, scoring 10 goals in 10 games in Newcastle’s campaign.
When it comes to assists, the Magpies winger has five, while Trossard has three more, with eight in total.
As for Martinelli, he has 11 goals and three assists in all competitions for Arsenal, which is fewer than Gordon in both departments.

Howe on Gordon to Arsenal links
Newcastle manager Eddie Howe was asked about the recent talk about a move to Arsenal for Gordon.
“I’m not sure there’s a lot I can do about that,” Howe said. “I’ve not seen the story, so it’s news to me.
“But we’re mid-season, we’re in the middle of some of the biggest games of his career, and who knows what’s going to happen internationally with Anthony in the summer as well.
“He’s not got time to look left or right.
“He’s got to be fully focused on straight ahead and the next game, and trying to be as good as he can be.”
