Angel Reese in exchange with cameraman before breaking WNBA record and trailing only Shaq
Of course Angel Reese had to make WNBA history against her former team.
Reese, now a member of the Atlanta Dream, took on the Chicago Sky for the first time since her blockbuster trade over the offseason.

To say the 24-year-old was locked in for the game would be an understatement.
So much so that the cameraman took the brunt of it.
After the starting lineups had been announced, Reese was walking over to her teammates stood on the court for a group huddle, but the ESPN cameraman got a little too close to her for her liking.
“Sir! Sir! Stop,” she said to the cameraman, while holding her hands up, in a clip which has since gone viral on social media.
Then, history happened.
Reese proceeded to dominate the contest, dropping 17 points and 17 rebounds, as well as dishing out four assists, and two steals in a closely-fought 82-75 win.
In fact, she recorded more rebounds than the Sky‘s entire starting line up (16).
It was Reese’s 57th double-double of her young WNBA career which has seen her feature in just 75 games to date.
History puts her alongside NBA legends
According to ESPN Insights, that is the most through 75 games in WNBA history.
But the record transcends past the WNBA and into the NBA too, with Reese tying Blake Griffin for the second-most double-doubles through the first 75 games in history.

Only one player recorded more in the last 40 seasons – Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal.
O’Neal, who has served as Reese’s mentor stemming back to her college days at his alma mater LSU, recorded 63 through his first 75 career games in the NBA.
Some of the names behind Reese include San Antonio Spurs legends Tim Duncan and David Robinson, who each had 53 during a 75-game span.
This shows that not only has her game translated well into the W out of college, but that the Dream star is one of the most consistent players in the league at this time.
Through 11 games of the 2026 campaign, Reese is averaging 13.3 points a night shooting 41.7 percent from the field, to go with 11.7 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 1.3 steals and a block.
The Dream sit top of the Eastern Conference with an 8-3 record – with Reese needing just two more wins to surpass last season’s overall win tally with the Sky.
As it stands, Atlanta rank third overall in the WNBA, with the same win-loss record as the defending champions Las Vegas Aces, why they both sit 1.5 games back of the 10-2 Minnesota Lynx.
