Amad Diallo sends World Cup fans into a frenzy with late goal vs. Ecuador

The 2026 FIFA World Cup saw a thrilling upset as Amad Diallo scored the game-winning goal in the Ivory Coast’s 1-0 victory over Ecuador ON Sunday night.

Both teams batted throughout the entirety of regulation. Ivory Coast returned to the World Cup for the first time since 2014, hoping to reach the knockout stage for the first time in its history. Ecuador was certainly a tough test for the African side. The South American squad shines as the best defense in the region, only conceding five goals in qualifying. They also boast a status as a dark horse contender, proving to be a crucial match for the Ivory Coast.

It was a highly defensive game as plenty of scoring chances appeared throughout the game. However, those were unsuccessful until it took Diallo scoring the game-winner in the 90th minute to help his squad pull away with the stunning victory.
