‘All-time performance’ – Justin Hood leaves fans amazed in stunning PDC World Championship upset as he narrowly missed out on elite record
Justin Hood left fans simply bewildered by his dazzling display against Josh Rock.
Hood was an underdog against 11th seed Josh Rock in his round of 16 clash at the PDC World Championship.

But he delivered the most emphatic and incredible display of the tournament so far, whitewashing the Northern Irish star.
He scored a 4-0 victory in the most impressive fashion possible, leaving Rock with barely a chance at a double.
The Ally Pally crowd roared him on as he went out 11 out of 11 on his doubles, which would have seen him shatter the PDC World Championship record.
His rival, Rock, even couldn’t believe it and encouraged the crowd to support the new arrival on the scene, who simply blew away his opponent.
Unfortunately for Hood, his record was broken as he threw for the match missing doubles in the fourth and final set to secure the victory.
He finished 12/16 with a 75 per cent ratio on his doubles, as well as a 101.18 match average.
He secured his place in a maiden quarter-finals, where he will next take on Michael van Gerwen or Gary Anderson.
Fans’ reaction to Justin Hood victory
Hood was simply stunning on the Ally Pally stage and fans gathered in their numbers to react.
One wrote: “An all-time classic performance, Justin Hood is a hero.
Another added: “I can’t believe what I’m watching. Win of the tournament so far.”

A third said: “One of the best performances I’ve ever seen. He’s going all the way!”
Another commented: “Greatest debut performance of all time.”
Hood has now knocked two seeded players out of the World Championship this year.
He first did so against sixth seed Danny Noppert in the second round by winning a nail-biting tie-breaker in the deciding set.
The quarter-final will soon come as his biggest test of all as he is set to face a former world champion at the oche.
