It has been about six weeks since Matt Fitzpatrick and Alex Fitzpatrick won the Zurich Classic and opened the world for the latter to have membership on the PGA Tour. The world of golf understood that this was all an incredible story as it was happening, and many were curious to see how Alex would fare once he was competing against the best in the world on a week by week basis.

This past week saw Alex finish T6 at the Memorial Tournament, and on Sunday specifically he posted the low round of the tournament with a 65. Finishing inside of the top 10 at a Signature Event is impressive to say the least, but having the low round of all players in the process is pretty impressive.

Top 10s at Signature Events are sort of becoming Alex’s thing, though. Since winning the Zurich with his brother, Alex has a hat trick’s worth of them.

  • T9 at the Cadillac Championship
  • 4th at the Truist Championship
  • T6 at the Memorial Tournament presented by Workday

If there was any doubt that Alex Fitzpatrick belongs on the PGA Tour he has put it well to bed. He is playing like one of the very best players in the world these days.

We will see how that all comes together next week at the U.S. Open.
