WWE’s Liv Morgan says wrestlers are trained to be actors ‘at any point in time’
Over the years, fans have witnessed multiple WWE stars jump ship from pro-wrestling to a career in acting. Some of the most famous names to have ever done it are Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Dave Bautista, John Cena, and a few more.
While current Superstars Chelsea Green and Tiffany Stratton are also hopeful about making the jump, they have not yet completely explored. WWE Women’s Champion Liv Morgan is currently scheduled to appear in Bad Lieutenant: Tokyo. Recently speaking to the Toronto Sun, Morgan opened up about how working in WWE prepares a wrestler for acting.
“I think that there’s so many skills that you learn through working in WWE that translate into so many different things in life, but acting, particularly, I feel like really, really, really helped me feel comfortable on set,” she said.
“I feel like when I’m on a movie set, I’m shooting a backstage (segment) at WWE. That’s the best way I can think of it, because obviously live promos out in the ring are something completely different; there’s nothing that replicates that. But, also, that skill of ‘one and done’, it better be great, helps on a movie set because you’re kinda ready to give it your best from the get… y’know warm up. Some people, they get better as they do more takes. It takes a minute to get into it, but we’re quite literally trained to be ready at any point in time, always, so I feel like that helps.”
Morgan further revealed that she was comfortable acting because it felt like being at home in WWE. “There’s really a lot of transferable skills, a lot of low-key sneaky training that you don’t even know that you’re getting until you’re put in that scenario where you feel ready and comfortable, because you’ve been kinda doing the same thing,” she concluded.
Apart from her upcoming role Bad Lieutenant: Tokyo, Morgan was also a part of the 2023 film, The Kill Room.
