WWE legend looks ‘jacked’ at 65 years old
The concept of fitness in pro-wrestling was very different in the early 1980s and 1990s. While pro-wrestlers view themselves as athletes now and take care of their health and nutrition, such was not the case almost 30 years ago. Recently, fans have witnessed many former wrestlers and veterans succumbing to illness or developing long-term problems.
Taking part in the age of transformation is now WWE legend and 65-year-old wrestling veteran, Godfather, aka Papa Shango. Once on the bigger side of wrestlers, Godfather underwent a transformation phase a few years ago, where he lost a considerable amount of weight and looked leaner and fitter. However, he has now started building up muscle over his lean physique.
In a recent social media upload, the veteran was found to look completely shredded and ripped. “Older I get.The more focus I become,” The Godfather wrote as a caption on his social media picture. The post was soon filled with positive and encouraging comments from wrestlers and his fans. “Looking Jacked,” wrote former WWE wrestler David Otunga. While Chris Van Vliet commented, “Aging in reverse!” “Peptide Shango,” wrote another Instagram user. Another fan of his wrote, “Big Papa Shango is ready to make a comeback and team up with Danhausen and curse the entire WWE.”
Real name, Charles Thomas Wright, he made his WWE debut in 1991 and portrayed a multitude of characters throughout his run with the promotion. Despite retiring from full-time in-ring appearances, Wright continued making sporadic appearances for WWE. In 2016, Wright was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as The Godfather.
