Wrexham vs Ipswich predictions

The two Championship sides face-off in an interesting match-up in the FA Cup.

At this stage of the competition and up against these kind of opponents, they will both likely put out their strongest XI.

These two are in the top six of the Championship with Town ahead in third hoping for a late automatic promotion push as they are currently catching up with Coventry in the league, but in the cup it’s all to play for.

Goals galore?

Wrexham only sit seven points behind Town in the league and we could be treated to a fantastic game with a tonne of goals.

The Tractor Boys have scored 51 goals in just 30 Championship games while also conceding close to a goal per game with 29.

Wrexham on the other hand have scored just 44 but conceded as many as 39 in their 31 games played.

In the FA Cup it’s been a similar story too, the Welsh side managed to dispatch of Premier League opposition Nottingham Forest in a thrilling 3-3 draw that ended with the Championship side progressing via penalties.

Ipswich Town got into the 4th Round of the FA Cup with a 2-1 victory over Blackpool, only conceding incredibly late on thanks to a penalty from the Tangerines.

Gamechangers

There’s a few players that stand out from both sides in this game to make the difference.

Sam Smith and Josh Windass are set to start for Wrexham and are in good form this season, always looking capable of scoring with five and eight goals respectively.

Jack Clarke is the main one to keep an eye on though, he’s ranked joint second in the Championship for goals, with 12 in 30 appearances.

All three could be vital and involved in this Friday night clash where goals could come thick and fast.

Kieffer Moore is Wrexham’s top scorer in the league this season with ten goals, but isn’t expected to start giving Smith the chance up top.
