Aston Villa are still up there in third place but are now being closed in on by Manchester United.

The Red Devils haven’t dropped many points recently whereas Villa have only won once in their last four matches, meaning they’ve not only drifted further afield from top of the table Arsenal and then Man City in second but also let other teams catch up.

But things could be worse, Wolves have still only won one game all season in the Premier League, only accumulating ten points so far.

Can Aston Villa turnaround form?

Aston Villa are the obvious choices and at 5/6 to win are pretty good value.

They are at complete opposite ends of the table and although they’ve hit a rough patch, facing Wolves could be the optimal timing to try and find some form.

There’s been a glimmer of what caused the start of their season to be so poor too – lack of goals.

While it’s not been as bad as going through a goal drought, they’ve only scored three in their last four Premier League games and only four in their last five in all competitions.

One goal has only been enough to win against Brighton earlier this month on a Wednesday night, and they could make a statement on Friday with a big performance away from home.

They beat Wolves just 1-0 earlier this season in the reverse fixture.

In a game that often looked like Villa were going to get the winner at some point, it just took until the 67th minute thanks to a Boubacar Kamara strike.

Back amongst the goals?

Morgan Rogers had a flurry of goals earlier this year, scoring three braces in the space of six games.

He’s scored eight in total along with five assists and his last goal came against Bournemouth just earlier this month which seemed to be a crucial goal for his momentum.

He hadn’t scored since facing Man United going seven without a goal and is definitely one of the main contenders to be involved against Wolves on Friday night.

Ollie Watkins usually has more goals than he’s got at this point of the season, by a comfortable distance in fact.

With eight goals so far though he’s still got time to replicate previous season’s tallies for Villa.

Without a goal since facing Newcastle earlier this year he will be incredibly keen to add to his tally, especially against a side prone to concede like Wolves are.
