Andy Robertson was replaced at half time in Scotland’s final World Cup group game against Brazil.

The 32-year-old did not reappear after the break at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.

Celtic’s Kieran Tierney came on to replace to Scotland captain.

No official reason has been given as to why new Tottenham signing Robertson was forced off.

However, he ‘gingerly’ took his place on the Scotland bench a few minutes into the half.

talkSPORT’s Shebahn Aherne, who is at the game in Miami, said: “I want to mention how hot it is in here. I am cooking in here, Andy Robertson is breathing like a racehorse.”

She added: “This is miserable, this heat. Andy Robertson very cautiously and gingerly came back to the dugout to watch his team for the second half.”

Scotland vs Brazil

The Tartan Army’s hopes of qualifying for the last-32 look set to take a major blow as Brazil inflict maximum damage.

It was always an outside shot Scotland would get a result against Brazil, but will likely need some favours from elsewhere to ensure passage to the knockout round.

A first-half double from Vinicius Jr and a goal from Man United’s Matheus Cunha put them 3-0 ahead.

Goal difference could be vital in determining which of the 12 third place teams go through.

Eight will progress, while four will miss out.
