Why 1 Knicks fan is now calling Timothee Chalamet new ‘celeb face’ of franchise over Ben Stiller
Skipping Game 1 between the New York Knicks and Philadelphia 76ers might’ve come at a cost for superfan Ben Stiller, who didn’t join fellow actor and fan Timothée Chalamet at Madison Square Garden.
For the longest time, Stiller was one of the most recognizable celebrity Knicks fans, up there with the likes of Spike Lee. However, in some fans’ eyes, Chalamet may have taken his place, given his recent devotion to the team.
Sorry, he’s now the celeb face of the Knicks as he has his priorities in order https://t.co/gMz99fc0QN

“Sorry, he’s now the celeb face of the Knicks as he has his priorities in order,” one fan wrote on X, formerly Twitter, in response to a video of Chalamet entering the arena.
Why Ben Stiller missed the Knicks’ Game 1 win over the 76ers

Stiller is usually a fixture at the Knicks’ home games, especially in the playoffs, making it surprising that he no-showed Game 1 against the Sixers.
However, he may have had a good reason to miss it. He was uptown at the 2026 Met Gala with his wife, Christine Taylor. While they couldn’t be at the game, they still represented. Stiller wore an orange tie while Taylor had a blue dress on.
Throughout the night, Stiller kept repeating his prediction that the Knicks would beat the Sixers in six games. They are off to a good start after beating the 76ers by 39 points in Game 1.
The Knicks won Game 1 by a score of 137 to 98. They were coming off a 51-point thrashing of the Atlanta Hawks a few days earlier. They have won their last four games all by a margin of more than 10 points.
Maybe Stiller will return to the Garden on Wednesday, May 6, when Game 2 goes down. The series will then head to Philadelphia for Games 3 and 4. If necessary, Games 5 and 7 would be played in New York. So, Stiller has ample opportunities to catch the Knicks during this series.
