The 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympics are moving through their first week and the women’s ice hockey competition is moving through group play. Ten nations are competing across two groups and eight of those nations will advance to the knockout bracket. The quarterfinals will get underway on February 13 and the gold medal and bronze medal games will take place on the 19th.

Team USA entered the Olympics as the betting favorite with -155 odds at FanDuel Sportsbook. Canada followed at +115, and then Czechia was third with +6000 odds, showing just how much of a two-nation race this tournament is expected to be.

The women’s tournament is broken up into two groups. Group A features the five highest-ranked teams of the field. Group B features the remaining five teams. All five Group A teams will advance to the knockout bracket, while three of the five teams in Group B will advance. That will set up the eight-nation quarterfinal round.
