Where to watch England v Japan: TV channel and free live stream World Cup friendly

Fans can watch England against Japan for free on Tuesday evening as they play each other at Wembley stadium.

England play their final international friendly before they fly to America in the summer for the World Cup following their draw with Uruguay on Friday.

Ben White gave the Three Lions the lead late on but then conceded a penalty in stoppage time which led to the 1-1 draw.

It was an eventful evening for the right-back as he made his return to the England set-up, getting booed by the crowd as he was substituted on.

Japan were able to pick up a late win at Hampden Park versus Scotland on Friday, with Junya Ito scoring.

Tuchel already has a clear idea of who will be involved in his World Cup squad but he’s using this international break to give players an opportunity to change his mind.

There are spots in defence that are yet to be earned, most importantly at right-back, while players like James Garner and Elliot Anderson are still proving why they deserve to go stateside.

England vs Japan: What has been said?

There have been sudden withdrawals from Arsenal players during this international break for multiple nations, including Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice which has raised questions from fans about the severity.

Thomas Tuchel said: “They wanted desperately to play to get the narrative straight, but it made no sense to take the risk.

“If it was the last game of the season we would have kept them, but at this moment of the season it did not make sense.

“The risk we were making was way too big.

“They were both clearly in discomfort when we did the medical assessment. It made absolutely no sense that they stayed.

“[I’m] not disappointed with the players, it’s the reality of the season, the reality of the end of March, reality of players involved in more than one competition.

“We have players in camp that have already played more minutes than last season, so there is some concern.

“The players deserve the mental break from football, and we could see the energy with which they came back to camp in a new environment.

“It helps them go back to their clubs and perform, we want them to perform in their clubs, but it is also our last camp before America, so we want to reconnect to our principles.

“I’m not upset or angry with the players, I got the feeling that everyone was desperate to come.

“Some of the injured players even stayed to do their treatment, that shows they want to be around the group, no one left straight away, it’s a good spirit and that’s how it should be.”

Japan have a key absentee in their squad, Liverpool midfielder Wataru Endo, who is hoping he will be fit for the World Cup after undergoing surgery.

Manager Hajime Moriyasu could make changes to the line-up to that won at Hampden Park, including a start for Brighton winger Kaoru Mitoma.

Tuchel spoke about how he’s looking forward to the game, saying: ” I like the Japanese team a lot, it’s an honour to play them. We have two very interesting and different opponents, different mentalities and style of play.

“We are excited about the quality and the way Japan plays, one loss in 17 matches is a very good run.

“You can see the quality, we need to be ourselves and put in a top performance to win the game.”
