Wayne Rooney accuses Mohamed Salah of destroying his Liverpool legacy in brutal verdict
Wayne Rooney has torn into Mohamed Salah over his ‘arrogance’ and believes it is he who has thrown Liverpool under the bus.
Salah sent shockwaves through the football world on Saturday when he claimed he no longer had a relationship with Reds boss Arne Slot and accused the club of broken promises.

The Egyptian superstar also felt he had been ‘thrown under the bus’ by the English giants.
Salah’s outburst occurred after Liverpool drew 3-3 with Leeds, which marked the third consecutive match in which he was named on the bench.
But Manchester United legend Rooney was not a fan of how Salah conducted himself and believed it could have long-lasting ramifications for how he’s remembered in Merseyside.
What was Wayne Rooney’s verdict on Mohamed Salah’s shocking outburst?
“He is absolutely destroying his legacy at Liverpool,” Rooney said on his podcast.
“It would be sad for him to throw it all away. He’s gone about it all wrong.”
Since Salah’s arrival at Anfield in June 2017, he has cemented himself as one of the club’s greatest-ever players thanks to his remarkable goalscoring exploits.
Mohamed Salah’s legacy at Liverpool
The 33-year-old has netted 250 times in 420 appearances for Liverpool and is a four-time Premier League golden boot winner.
Salah also inspired Liverpool to their most successful period in the modern era, as the club has won the Premier League twice, the FA Cup, the League Cup, the Champions League, the UEFA Super Cup and the Club World Cup.
At present, it is a remarkable legacy to leave.
But, as Rooney pointed out, Salah’s outburst has threatened to tarnish all the good he has done for the club.

Aside from the impact on his legacy, Rooney also questioned the effect of Salah’s comments on the dressing room.
What impact could Mohamed Salah’s comments have on the dressing room?
“Time catches up with all of us, and this season he hasn’t looked as his best, at his sharpest,” Rooney said.
“You want to see him roll his sleeves up and say, ‘Ok then, I’ll show you’.
“To have the arrogance to say he doesn’t have to earn his place because he has already earned his place, you need to be at your best every week to try and stay in the team.
“If I was one of his team-mates, I wouldn’t be happy at all with what he said because this is where Liverpool need him most.
“If anything, he has thrown Liverpool under the bus with his words.

“He’s been absolutely incredible for Liverpool, but this was disrespectful to his teammates, manager and fans.
“I would imagine he will be very quiet around the training ground and that will bring a negative energy in itself to the new players Arne has bedded in.
“I am sure over the next couple of years he will regret saying what he has.”
What next for Salah?
Salah could be left out of Liverpool’s Champions League squad to face Inter Milan on Tuesday.
The Reds then face Brighton on Saturday before he travels to the Africa Cup of Nations with Egypt.
It opens up the possibility of a January exit with Saudi Pro League clubs ready to reignite transfer interest.
MLS side San Diego are also believed to be open to a move.
