‘Want to ban me? Do it’ – Ian Holloway rips ‘absolutely disgusting’ decision to ban EFL captain in all-time rant
An incensed Ian Holloway criticised FA officials in an incredible rant after captain Ollie Clarke was banned 24 hours before Swindon’s 3-1 win over Barrow.
Swindon were fined £1,000 for fielding Clarke in an EFL Trophy tie with Luton, believing a seven-game ban he was subject to did apply to the competition.

Clarke received the lengthy ban earlier this month having been found to have committed highly violating acts of foul play on two opponents during a game against Cardiff last August.
The 33-year-old admitted to the charges, though insists both incidents were unintentional, a claim that was rejected.
However, Holloway was left reeling after being told on Friday that captain Clarke had been given a one-match ban and would miss the welcome of Barrow.
‘It’s absolutely disgusting’
“We had a terrible blow when I was told at five o’clock that my captain couldn’t play after we prepared with him in the team,” a furious Holloway began.
“I’ve rung the League Managers Association to complain – I think it’s unprofessional.
“They want to fine me? Good! They want to ban me? Good! Do it. Have a look at yourselves every single one of you. It’s absolutely disgusting.
“And whether I get another game or not I don’t really care anymore.”
The Robins could find themselves in further hot water with the EFL on Monday, not only for the Clarke blunder, but the decision to field Aaron Drinan.
‘You cowards’
Drinan’s name wasn’t on the teamsheet but came on for the second half as he replaced Ollie Palmer at the break.
Swindon believe the match officials should have clarified selections before kick-off.

Even so, Swindon may now be thrown out of the EFL Trophy despite their 2-1 win over the Hatters earlier this month.
“It’s a siege mentality in my head now, absolutely totally and utterly,” Holloway continued.
“And if Luton go through, good luck to you. We beat you fair and poxy square.
“I’m not having our club secretary dragged through the coals, left, right and centre.
“You have a look at yourselves first. I know how wrong you are, you cowards.”
Swindon’s win over Barrow ended a four-game losing run, and they’ll look to make it back-to-back victories when they take on Harrogate in midweek.
