UFC star claims knockout and submission victory in sickening finish in Seattle
Alexa Grasso has taken credit for both knocking and choking Maycee Barber out during UFC Fight Night 271 over the weekend.
Barber required medical attention when she was knocked out cold by Grasso at the event in Seattle.

The 27-year-old lay motionless on the canvas for around a minute after being knocked and chocked out by the Mexican MMA star.
And when asked whether she KO’d or submitted Barber in the UFC showdown, Grasso said: “I think it was both.”
Grasso was then quizzed on whether she was worried about how long Barber was out for, to which she replied: “It’s part of the sport. It’s always like that.
“I just wanted her to wake up as soon as possible.”
Barber, thankfully, was able to leave the cage on her own accord despite the sickening knockout, and even stood with the referee as Grasso was announced as the winner of the fight.
The result means Barber is now 15-3 in her MMA career, and her loss over the weekend was her first since defeat to Grasso back in 2021.
Prior to the weekend, Barber, who suffered a suspected seizure during her fight with Erin Blanchfield last year, had earned seven successive wins and had hoped to exact revenge upon her rival at UFC Fight Night 271.
The American has since taken to Instagram to confirm that she is in good health despite the worrying scenes post-defeat.
Barber shared multiple Instagram Stories that she’s fine, and is already looking forward to her next fight.

“Part of the game. Congrats to Alexa. We got caught but are okay. Will be back soon. Thanks for everyone checking in,” one post read.
“Not our night….This is the fight game, and sometimes things don’t go our way. No blame, no excuses…..just lessons. We learn, we grow and we come back stronger. God is good all the time,” a second added.
Despite Barber requiring medical attention, UFC supremo Dana White dubbed the finish as ‘”‘one of the greatest in sports history’ following the fight.
“I think it is one of the greatest in sports history, let alone this year, tonight or whatever. It was incredible,” White said during the UFC Seattle post-fight press conference.
