Tracy Morgan calls Jalen Brunson ‘Ghostbuster’ in hilarious rant involving King Kong, Godzilla, The Godfather

Tracy Morgan knows how to make a moment hilarious, and following the New York Knicks’ NBA championship win, he made sure to do so.

The Knicks beat the San Antonio Spurs 94-90 in Game 5 of the NBA Finals, which the 30 Rock star attended. The comedian sat down with the NBA and shared a bunch of pop culture references such as Godzilla, Ninja Turtles, King Kong, Ghostbusters, and more as he described the determination and heart of the Knicks.

“Let me tell you something about this team man, we got the killer instincts. And I know [Michael] Jordan had that, and I know Kobe [Bryant] had that,” Morgan said.

The hosts agreed with the comedian, and that’s where Morgan took it a step further and started spilling out pop culture references that had New York ties.

“New York City that’s where King Kong died… and we told Godzilla you next motherf*cker. You, the three-headed monster, the flying turtle, all y’all can all get it.”

“Y’all got the ‘Alien,” he said in referencing the nickname of Spurs’ Victor Wembanyama, adding, “We got the Ghostbusters.”

Morgan then started breaking out to the theme song to the iconic movie, “It’s something strange in the neighborhood.”

The hosts immediately broke out in laughter, with one asking “Who you gonna call?”

“Jalen Brunson,” Morgan said before jokingly stating, “He look like he can change a pipe under my sink.”

Morgan has been on the road with the Knicks during their playoff run including following the team to Philadelphia, Cleveland, and San Antonio for the NBA Finals.

After clinching the the NBA championship title after 53 years for the Knicks franchise, Brunson was speechless.

“I have no words,” Brunson said on the court in the immediately after the win. “It’s everything I ever dreamed of.”

Next up for the Knicks is the parade in New York City on June 18 so that the team can celebrate with their fans.
