Thunder’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander won’t take Game 4 sweep opportunity for granted
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is emphasizing the importance of focus after the Oklahoma City Thunder secured the Game 3 win over the Los Angeles Lakers on the road on Saturday night.
Gilgeous-Alexander and the Thunder have firm control over their West Semifinals series against the Lakers. After defending homecourt in Games 1 and 2, they knew they needed to perform well in enemy territory. They understood Los Angeles would feed off home crowd’s support to get possibly get their first win in the series.
Fortunately for Oklahoma City, they dominated the hosts from the start of the second half onwards as they now lead 3-0 in the series. Being one win away from the West Finals, Gilgeous-Alexander explained after the Game 3 win what it will take to obtain the series win in Game 4.
“We would never want to waste the opportunity to win a basketball game. We got to do the same thing we did in the first three games. Be the aggressor, play the right way together. Whether the shots are going in or out, just stay true to our identity, and leave our personalities out there on the floor,” Gilgeous-Alexander said.

How Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Thunder played against Lakers
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the Thunder are one win away from getting back to the West Finals for the second straight year, looking to continue their title defense.
Los Angeles managed to lead at halftime for the second consecutive game, something Oklahoma City has had trouble with. Despite this, the Thunder took full control by outscoring the hosts 74-49 for the rest of the game.
Seven players scored in double-digits for Oklahoma City in the win. Ajay Mitchell led the team with 24 points, 10 assists, four rebounds, and three steals. Gilgeous-Alexander came next with 23 points and nine assists, Chet Holmgren had 18 points and nine rebounds, while Cason Wallace put up 16 points. Meanwhile, Isaiah Hartenstein and Isaiah Joe provided 12 points each.
The Thunder seek the series sweep when they face the Lakers on the road in Game 4. The contest takes place on May 11 at 10:30 p.m. ET.
