Bet of the Day – Wolves to beat Manchester United @ 16/5 

Continuing to do the same thing and expecting different results is the definition of insanity, but Wolves can be given one more chance to pick up their first Premier League success of the season.

It’s 14 league matches without success, and only two points for Rob Edwards’ men, who sit at the bottom of the Premier League table, already 12 points from safety.

There’s not a huge amount of value of in blowing up Wolves performances, given they continue to lose games, but the underlying numbers do suggest that the Molineux men are a little better than their measly points tally may suggest.

The other major factor in thinking that Edwards’ side may be overpriced on Monday night, is that Wolves are facing Manchester United.

The Red Devils have won only one of their last five top-flight contests and matches against Nottingham Forest, Tottenham, Everton, Crystal Palace and West Ham can hardly be viewed as a particularly tough run of fixtures.

Ruben Amorim’s men were beaten 1-0 by the ten men of Everton at Old Trafford last month and Thursday’s effort in a 1-1 draw against West Ham wasn’t much of an improvement.

United have kept only one clean sheet in 15 all-competition matches this season and being odds-on didn’t stop the Red Devils coming unstuck in the League Cup against Grimsby.

Wolves haven’t scored for five Premier League matches, but that could be about to change on Monday night.

Manchester United haven’t kept a single clean sheet in any of their eight away games this season and there have been a total of 27 goals in those contests.

All but one of United’s eight road trips have gone over 2.5 goals, and both teams have scored in every match, bar the 3-0 Manchester derby defeat to City at the Etihad.

The recent results of Wolves may suggest the fight has left Edwards’ men, but there have been 29 yellow and two red cards in their last six games and another spikey contest is anticipated.

Special of the Day – Pisa to beat Parma, Udinese to beat Genoa & AC Milan to beat Torino treble @ 222/5

Play a Monday night Serie A treble. Parma are firmly in a relegation battle and one win in nine matches doesn’t suggest the Crusaders will be winning at Pisa, who have lost only one of their last seven games and that was against Inter Milan.

Udinese have lost only two of eight home matches this season and another Bluenergy Stadium success awaits when Genoa, thumped 4-0 at Atalanta in the cup in midweek, come to town.

It’s 12 Serie A games without defeat for AC Milan and the table toppers, still unbeaten away in the league after winning the derby on their last Serie A road trip, can keep the pressure on their title rivals by beating Torino.
