Friday’s football betting tips
Getafe to beat Elche @ 23/20
It is seventh against 10th in La Liga as Getafe host Elche at the Coliseum.
Los Azulones’ reputation for frustrating more talented opponents has again been evident this season, and they only fell to an 82nd-minute Domingos Duarte penalty in last Sunday’s 1-0 defeat to Atletico Madrid.
They have now lost two of their last three home matches but those numbers are skewed by the quality of opposition, with Real Madrid’s 1-0 win the other recent blip on their patch, Kylian Mbappe scoring the crucial goal in the 80th minute.
Elche came close to beating Real themselves on Sunday, Jude Bellingham equalising late in a 2-2 draw but that game may have taken something out of them and Los Franjiverdes have lost their last three away matches in La Liga.
Jose Bordelas will send his Getafe side out to win in as efficient a manner as possible and back them to get the job done, with a victory to zero worth 41/20.
Bet Builder
- Oxford v Ipswich – 24/5
- Ipswich to win
- Both Teams to Score – NO
- Chuba Akpom anytime goalscorer
It’s a quick turnaround for Oxford and Ipswich, who, after playing on Tuesday, meet at the Kassam Stadium three nights later.
The Tractor Boys are heavy odds on and with the better squad, and greater momentum after winning 2-0 at Hull, should take all three points against a U’s side without a win in five.
Ipswich are also taken to so while keeping a third straight clean sheet, having drawn 0-0 against Wrexham on Saturday and striker Chuba Akpom could prove the difference.
The on-loan Ajax forward finally netted his first goal for Ipswich in the win at Hull and can double up on Friday.
Acca
- Rennes to win
- Como to win
- Draw between Borussia Monchengladbach and RB Leipzig
- Acca pays @ 10/1
There’s also French, German and Italian football this Friday evening, and those divisions feature in our acca.
Rennes beat Monaco 4-1 last Saturday to make it three wins in a row and can extend their winning run at Metz, whose own hat-trick of victories was ended by a 3-2 loss at another Breton outfit, Brest.
They could be joined in victory by Como, who host Sassuolo in Serie A. The Neroverdi are unbeaten in four on the road but lost 3-0 at the Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia in last season’s Coppa Italia.
Cesc Fabregas’ Biancoblu were 5-1 winners at Torino on Monday and are tipped to win on Friday on the strength of being unbeaten at home all season.
Finally, backing the draw between in-form pair Borussia Monchengladbach and RB Leipzig looks a smart play with them tough to choose between.
Die Fohlen have won their last four and Die Bullen five of their last six, so split the difference and back a draw for value.
