The Super Bowl is heading to Music City.

NFL owners on Tuesday officially selected Nashville as host of Super Bowl LXIV in February 2030.

The new Nissan Stadium, which is under-construction and scheduled to become the home of the Tennessee Titans next year, will host the big game.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell noted Tuesday that hosting Super Bowl LXIV is the next step in a ‘remarkable football journey’ for the Volunteer State.

“The 2019 NFL Draft in Nashville was one of the greatest fan events in our history,” Goodell said in a statement.

“Super Bowl LXIV at the new stadium is the next step in this remarkable football journey.

“The vision of (controlling owner) Amy Adams Strunk and the Tennessee Titans helped make this moment possible.

“With great partners at the Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp. and Tennessee Titans, we can’t wait to put on an unforgettable show in 2030.”

Tennessee becomes just the 12th state to host the Super Bowl, and the event will mark a good opportunity for the growing Nashville market to showcase it’s state-of-the-art stadium.

However, the design of the Titans’ new home has previously been questioned by fans.

Built at a cost of $2.2 billion, the new stadium is rising in the shadows of the team’s current home field, Nissan Stadium, which sits on the east bank of the Cumberland River in Nashville.

The new venue will be fully enclosed, and will feature a translucent roof to ensure players and fans are protected from the elements.

Having a dome is said to be a benchmark for hosting a Super Bowl these days, with a number of other NFL teams set to build indoor arenas, and the decision to award Nashville the game in 2030 further backs up that idea.

But, new Nissan Stadium will have a capacity of just 60,000, which makes it the smallest in the NFL.

While the Titans have touted their new home as an ‘extraordinary’ stage that will serve Nashville beyond football, the design has been slammed by some fans.

“Looks like a cookie cutter stadium from the 1970’s but in a square. No longer on the waterfront, either,” one posted on X, reacting to recent images.

“These domed stadiums. Ugh. Football is an all weather sport and should be played that way. Nashville isn’t upper Michigan nor Summer in Phoenix,” another wrote, questioning the roof.

“Only 60k seats? S***, Royal stadium (Texas) holds almost double that capacity and that’s a college team,” a third said.

“Why all these new stadiums so small? Should be minimum 70,000,” a fourth concluded.

Others, though, believe a Super Bowl in Tennessee will be must-watch.

“A Super Bowl in Nashville will be insane for the atmosphere alone. Music, nightlife, football fans everywhere — the city was built for big events,” one excited fan said.

“The city is built for big events and absolutely crushed the draft,” another wrote.

NFL Stadium Status

“Wild to see this. Never in a million years would I expect my hometown to host the Super Bowl,” a local Nashvillian added.

“Yeah, this one’s gonna be loud,” a fourth concluded.

Regardless of fan opinion, it’s now official: the new Nissan Stadium will host a Super Bowl as long hoped.

Next year’s big game is slated to take place at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, while Super Bowl LXIII will be held in Las Vegas at Allegiant Stadium in 2029.

Then, it will be time to break new ground in Tennessee. See you in 2030, Nashville.
