Rangers’ 4th round pick Spencer Bowes really loves Sidney Crosby

The New York Rangers made one of the biggest moves on the first day of the draft when they acquired high-scoring Pavel Dorofeyev from the Vegas Golden Knights. The trade was something of a shocker because the Rangers appear to be in a rebuild mode following their last place finish in the Metropolitan Division.

While Chris Drury gained some accolades for the move, he also had a busy second day of the draft as the Rangers drafted eight players, including two centers, a right winger, a goaltender and four left-shot defenseman.

One of those selection was center Spencer Bowes, whom the Rangers selected with the 102nd overall pick in the fourth round. The 18-year-old Bowes can also play left wing in addition to center. He is 6-0 and 174 pounds.

At this point, skating is the best part of Bowes’ game as he plays with excellent pace and he takes ideal routes to the puck. As he gets older, he can be expected to put on weight and strength, and that could help him when he goes into the corner and has to battle for the puck.

He participated in a brief question and answer session with the Rangers in which he provided a few hints into his personality. He explained that his favorite activity outside of playing hockey is heading to the golf course, his favorite food is spaghetti and that his favorite place to visit is Florida.

However, his most notable answers involved Sidney Crosby of the Pittsburgh Penguins. He said if he could have any person as his dinner guest, he would like to invite Crosby. He also revealed that Crosby was his favorite player while growing up.
