‘Probably doesn’t have sex’ – Diego Costa reveals least and most loved Chelsea managers in brutally honest interview

Diego Costa believes Antonio Conte is so ‘bitter’, he ‘probably doesn’t have sex at home’.

Costa delivered the scathing review of Conte on the latest episode of The Obi One Podcast, hosted by his former Chelsea teammate John Obi Mikel.

Although Costa played only one season under Conte, the experience left the former Spain international with a sour taste in his mouth.

Their relationship almost never began in the first place as Costa had an offer to return to Spain when Conte first arrived in west London ahead of the 2016/17 season.

Despite harbouring a desire to move back to Spain, a transfer never eventuated as Costa stayed put in west London.

It proved to be a wise call as Costa slammed home 20 league goals that season to help fire the Blues to a Premier League title.

However, the relationship between Costa and Conte took a turn for the worse in the off-season.

Speaking on the podcast, Costa revealed he sent Conte a message that read: “Boss, I want to know if you will count on me next season.”

Despite a 20-goal haul for Chelsea, Conte replied: “Diego, thank you for everything you have done, but I’m not counting on you.”

Costa was understandably taken aback by Conte’s response, stating it was ‘not normal’ for a coach to no longer count on his top scorer.

“He waited for a moment like that,” Costa said.

“He had the fans on his side too.”

“So I forwarded this message to Marina [Granovskaia], I sent the message to Marina and she immediately told me what he did could not be done.”

Similarly to last summer, Costa was wanted by former club Atletico Madrid as their players launched a charm offensive to lure the Spain international back to the capital.

Costa would get his wish as he rejoined Atleti in January 2018, bringing a premature end to his working relationship with Conte.

Safe to say, Costa wasn’t overly upset to no longer be playing for the Italian.

“Look, Conte’s OK as a professional coach,” Costa said.

“But as a person, he’s the worst thing you can have on a daily basis. It’s very bad.

One League Cup won (2014/15)

PFA Team of the Year (2014/15 Premier League)

“He’s a person who doesn’t trust others, he thinks he knows everything. You don’t enjoy training with him. He’s always angry, always with a long face. He probably doesn’t have sex at home because he’s a very bitter guy.

“It’s a shame because I was very happy in Chelsea, but I did not want to cause a problem at the club. If I came back, the players wanted me to come back but nobody liked him. That’s why he didn’t last long.

“The past is the past. It’s a shame, the titles he won at Chelsea, he won it with me. I wish him all the best in his life.”

Costa’s verdict on Conte was in complete contrast to his feelings towards Jose Mourinho, who brought him to Chelsea in July 2014.

“For me, Mourinho is the coach I enjoyed the most,” Costa said.

“When the team was doing well, Mourinho was the best coach a player could ever have in your team. He gives you life. You come to training happy. You can enjoy yourself if you win.

“He was always winning with so much success, I think he didn’t know how to digest defeats. But I think everyone who spent time with him, Mourinho had a good relationship.

“When you win with him, you enjoy training sessions. He gives you days off. He’s a person who listens to you, he gives you affection.

“If you need support, or something for the family, or you are not feeling well, he is always by your side.

“He is a person with strong character, but he has a very good heart.”
