Premier League – Week 8 Tips

Bet 1 –Luke Humphries to win Week Eight each-way @ 4/1

Luke Humphries takes on Michael van Gerwen in the Berlin quarter-finals and it’s a repeat of last weekend’s Belgian Darts Open semi-final, which Cool Hand won 7-2.

The former world champion was in superb form on the European Tour last week, beating Dirk van Duijvenbode, Jermaine Wattimena, Chris Dobey, Michael van Gerwen and Clayton on his way to the title.

Cool Hand averaged 105.96 in a destructive victory over MVG and another defeat of Mighty Might would set-up a last-four tie with either Clayton or Josh Rock.

Humphries looks booked for the Berlin final and the Newbury man can be backed each-way to win Night Eight of the Premier League.

Bet 2 – Luke Humphries to reach the Premier League final @ 7/4

Only Luke Littler is putting up a stronger overall Premier League average than Luke Humphries’ 100.82 and Cool Hand’s chances of reaching the final of the competition at the O2 Arena in May have been underplayed.

The defending Premier League king is playing some fantastic darts, and taking Littler out of the equation, the Newbury man would have picked up even more titles this season.

Humphries destroyed a whole host of top-level performers in Belgium last week and the 7/4 on offer about Cool Hand making the Premier League finals looks far too big.

Bet 3 – Luke Littler -2.5 legs v Stephen Bunting @ 8/11

Luke Littler has won all of his last three matches with Stephen Bunting and those successes have come by scorelines of 6-3, 7-4 and 7-4.

The most recent victory for the Nuke came only last week in Dublin, where the world champion crashed in a 105.07 average.

Littler took down the Irish prize last Thursday and a peak performance from the world champion will be too much for the Bullet.

There is a slight concern over the Nuke producing his best in Germany, where he has often avoided playing in the past, but there is enough in the handicap price to take a chance of the most destructive force in darts.

Bet 4 – Gerwyn Price to beat Gian van Veen @ 4/5

A fully fit Gian van Veen would be favourite to beat Gerwyn Price in Berlin, but the Dutchman doesn’t make the trip to Germany at his peak.

The Giant was hospitalised with kidney stones last week, which forced his withdrawal from last week’s Premier League event in Dublin and the weekend’s European Tour tournament in Belgium.

Price was excellent in Ireland last Thursday, averaging 103.66, 109.04 and 93.16 to reach the final and the Iceman can freeze out Van Veen.
