Premier League darts week 3 betting tips

Bet 1 – Gian van Veen -1.5 legs v Stephen Bunting @ 4/6

Stephen Bunting was 2-0 up on Michael van Gerwen in Newcastle on the opening week of Premier League action before losing six straight legs and falling 6-2 to MVG in the quarter-finals.

Last week, the Bullet led Jonny Clayton 4-1 in Antwerp, but again the Merseyside man squandered his advantage and was beaten 6-4 in his opening contest by the Ferret.

Bunting lost 12 of his 16 first-round games in last season’s Premier League and it’s pretty clear that this competition does not bring out the best in the former BDO world champion.

Gian van Veen made a solid start when making the final in Newcastle on week one of the Premier League and The Giant was only beaten 6-5 by Gerwyn Price in Belgium last Thursday.

The World Championship runner-up remains a progressive performer and the Dutchman can dodge the Bullet in Glasgow.

Bet 2 – Luke Humphries -1.5 legs v Josh Rock @ 8/11

As Bunting’s effort in the 2025 Premier League indicates, this is a competition which can quickly turn into a nightmare.

Josh Rock is still dreaming of Premier League success, but it hasn’t been an encouraging start for Rocky.

The Northern Irishman has failed to win a match in the opening two weeks of action and Rock averaged only 79.34 when losing 6-2 to Van Gerwen in Belgium last week.

Rocky turned his attention back to the Players Championship events earlier this week and the Pro Tour was a happy hunting ground for the Antrim ace last term.

However, the 24-year-old put up numbers of only 85.85 when losing to Jim Long in PC3 and then 94.08 in defeat to Niels Zonneveld in PC4.

Luke Humphries took down the Players Championship 4 crown on Tuesday and Cool Hand averaged 102.19 across his seven matches to success.

The former world champion appears to be operating at the peak of his powers and Humphries can leave Rock in a hard place.

Bet 3 – Over 9.5 legs in Michael van Gerwen v Luke Littler @ 6/5

There is enough in the price to think that Van Gerwen can make Littler work in Glasgow.

MVG won in Newcastle on night one of the Premier League and reached the final in Antwerp last week, where he downed The Nuke 6-4 in the semi-finals and it has been a strong start to the season for the Dutchman.

Van Gerwen lifted the Saudi Arabia Masters crown last month and he is averaging 96.35 across 11 Pro Tour matches this term.

Littler is clearly capable of destroying any arrowsmith, but the Glasgow crowd may not be onside and backing over 9.5 legs would cover a 6-4 or 6-5 success for either player.
