Pistons’ Cade Cunningham reveals where he gets ‘aura’ after showing Magic the door

Detroit Pistons All-Star Cade Cunningham revealed what pushed him to lead his team to a 116-94 Game 7 victory against the Orlando Magic. The fear of the Pistons seeing their season end triggered one of their better performances of late, securing their spot in the Eastern Conference semifinals after eliminating the Magic, 4-3.

After the win, Cunningham gave all the credit to his faith, he said, per the Detriot Free Press’ Omari Sankofa II.

“I get my aura from Jesus Christ – my Lord and Savior,” Cunningham said. “God blessed me with parents who raised me in a way I wouldn’t trade for the world.”

Cade Cunningham led the Pistons with 32 points on 10-for-18 shooting, including 4-for-6 from deep, and 8-for-10 from the free-throw line. He also recorded 12 assists and two blocks. Tobias Harris finished with 30 points, nine rebounds, three steals, and one block. Facing a 3-1 deficit, Cunningham and the Pistons beat the Magic for a third consecutive time to win the series.

NBA on ESPN’s Shaquille O’Neal commended Tobias Harris after Game 7‘s Pistons win that eliminated the Magic. Advancing to the second round, Harris’ production helped the Pistons keep the Magic at bay, O’Neal said, per ESPN’s Inside The NBA.

“The reason why I’ve been so high on the ‘others’ because throughout my career, the ‘others’ have saved me many times. And [Tobias Harris] had a fantastic game today,” O’Neal said. I knew when he hit that double pump shot at the corner that he was going to be out. He played excellent. He took a lot of pressure off Cade and he just played well.

“And when an ‘other’ is playing like that, and you’re at home and the crowd’s into the game, there’s not much you can do. They gave it away right before halftime, but he continued to play so well. And once the fire started, it was nothing they can do it with Tobias.”

The Pistons will host the Cavs in Game 1 on Tuesday.
