Phillies’ JT Realmuto sends fightin’ message to Flyers during Game 6

The Philadelphia Phillies haven’t had the greatest start to their season. Still, they’re hoping that the team’s outing to the Philadelphia Flyers-Pittsburgh Penguins Stanley Cup Playoffs game will inspire some confidence. The entire arena is getting a great dose of playoff hockey in Game 6, as the teams are locked in a goaltending battle, with the score still at 0-0, nearing the end of regulation.

Despite the team’s struggles this season, Philadelphia fans still love their Phillies, which is why the Flyers’ media team took some time to visit the team’s suite and get an in-game interview with catcher and noted hockey fan, J.T. Realmuto.

The Flyers took the city by storm when they grabbed a quick 3-0 series lead as the lower seed, giving themselves a chance to sweep their rivals on home ice. However, after the Penguins gained some confidence with the Game 4 win, they rallied to win Game 5 and increased the pressure on Philadelphia.

Game 6 feels like a must-win for the Flyers, as relinquishing a 3-0 lead and having to win Game 7 in enemy territory isn’t a recipe for success. With Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin’s veteran confidence and swagger growing by the period, Philadelphia is hoping they can finish the job in overtime.

The good news for the Flyers is that the entire city is behind them, including their baseball brothers from Citizens Bank Park. If the Flyers can advance to the second round, the atmosphere in sports-mad Philly will reach a fever pitch, just in time for the Phillies to attempt a rally back to their own playoffs.

Of course, Philadelphia fans, love ’em or hate ’em, are always going to keep their teams honest when they aren’t performing well, as the Phillies learned when they were booed during the Flyers game when shown on the Jumbotron.
