Rice has been at the fulcrum of everything good Arsenal have done so far this season domestically. The club are currently nine points clear at the top of Premier League and reaching the Carabao Cup final. Plus, just two wins away from another trip to Wembley in the FA Cup final.
The England man has been the midfield engine for Mikel Arteta’s side, playing the old school box-to-box role, the likes of Patrick Vieira and Roy Keane did in the noughties.
If Arsenal do get over the line in the league, Rice will be the stand out contender, alongside another Gunners team-mate.
But after rocketing up the league since Michael Carrick took charge. Could Man Utd captain Bruno Fernandes have a shout for the outstanding individual prize?

Rice is the short-priced front-runner to land the outstanding player gong for the 2025/26 season.
But Bruno Fernandes, 3/1, is quietly putting together, what US Sports would call an MVP season too.
Like all the players at Old Trafford since Carrick came in, the shackles have come off the Man Utd captain. Fernandes has 16 assists and is on course to break the all-time PL assist record held jointly by Thierry Henry and Kevin de Bruyne (20).
The Portuguese star has gone to another level since the turn of the year, win nine assists in that time. If Utd consolidate a top four spot, he will be in with a genuine shout.
Next in line is Rice’s indomitable team-mate Gabriel. The Arsenal defender has been monstrous alongside William Saliba at centre back this season.
The Brazilian has at times single handedly dragged the Gunners to victory, with goals or heroic defending to keep Arsenal out in front at the top of the league.
He’s notch the injury-time winner at St. James’ Park in September as well as crucial goals against Aston Villa and Bournemouth.
Arsenal’s title rivals Man City got one over on them in Carabao Cup, but could that impact the title race and subsequently the PFA Player of the Year award?
City star Erling Haaland is at 8/1 to win the award for second time. The Norwegian has 22 goals to his name in the Premier League so far this season.
But it’s by no means be an vintage year for the 25-year-old as City crashed out of the Champions League to Real Madrid in the last 16 stage.
However, if Guardiola can mastermind another come from behind Premier League win, then Haaland will surely be the man to fire them there. And those heroics could be the difference maker to winning this award.
His City team-mate Antoine Semenyo is at a pretty lengthy 20/1. But the Ghanaian is having a stand out season with 15 league goals.
His January move has already reaped at Carabao Cup medal. Could their be more to come
