Oregon, Oregon State extend Civil War rivalry with four-year agreement
The Civil War rivalry will remain intact after the two programs announced a four-year agreement on Tuesday. Oregon and Oregon State will reunite on the gridiron starting in 2028, and it will finish in 2032, with a one-year break in between.
“The Ducks will play the Beavers in Corvallis on Sept 16, 2028. Oregon State will then travel South to Eugene to play in Autzen Stadium on Sept. 15, 2029. There will not be an Oregon-Oregon State game in 2030, but the rivalry will return to Eugene on Aug. 30, 2031. The four-game scheduling agreement concludes with a game in Corvallis on Sept. 11, 2032.”
“In order to accommodate the addition of the Oregon State game in 2029, Oregon’s game with Utah State has been shifted from Sept. 15 to Sept. 8, 2029.”
The Ducks have dominated this historical rivalry forever. They own a 70-49-10 record against the Beavers all-time. The largest victory for the Ducks came in 2017 when they took down OSU 69-10. Dan Lanning’s squad has beaten the Beavers three straight times, and it doesn’t seem like that will end any time soon. Unless the Beavers quickly turn things around in the return to the Pac-12, Oregon may continue to dominate this rivalry for the next 10+ years.
This rivalry dates so far back that they began playing when OSU was named Oregon Agricultural College (1868) and then later became Oregon State in 1927. From 1936 to 1974, the Beavers beat the Ducks 28 times. Oregon then won 12 straight games and has not looked back since.
The Oregon Ducks should be one of the best teams in 2026-27, and they could even be the best team in the Big Ten.
