One-time England international leaves EFL club after playing just 132 minutes
Nathan Redmond has left Sheffield Wednesday after a short spell at the Championship strugglers.
The former Norwich City and Southampton winger joined the Owls in November on a short-term contract.

With 276 Premier League appearances to his name, Redmond arrived at Hillsborough with a depth of experience in top-level football.
However, he played just 132 minutes of football across seven matches for Wednesday in all competitions and did not make a single start.
Redmond picked up an injury during his early days at the club and is now a free agent.
Wednesday boss Henrik Pedersen told The Star earlier in the month that the 31-year-old’s contract would expire on January 26.
And four days after the end of the deal, Pedersen revealed that he now has a position to fill in his squad.
“We have Redmond, where we’ve signed no new contract, so we have this spot [to replace],” he said.
“I had a really good conversation with him, and we agreed that we needed to see the time and how much he played.
“I think on Tuesday we spoke, and I told him that I couldn’t promise him anything.”
Redmond’s career before Wednesday move
A product of the Birmingham City academy, Redmond made the first of 82 senior appearances at the club in 2010.
He completed a move to Norwich three years later and was key to their promotion back to the Premier League in the 2014/15 season.

Redmond later made a reported £10million move to Southampton in 2016 and spent six years at the club, scoring 30 goals and assisting 27.
The winger was part of the Saints squad that reached the 2016/17 EFL Cup final, where they lost 3-2 to Manchester United.
During his time on the south coast, Redmond made his one and only appearance for the England national team.
He came off the bench for Adam Lallana during a 1-0 friendly defeat against Germany in 2017.
Upon his departure from Southampton in 2022, Redmond made the move to Turkish giants Besiktas for one season.
A return to English football came with Burnley and despite injuries, he helped them win promotion to the Premier League last year.

Wednesday relegation woes
The 2025/26 campaign has been particularly difficult for Wednesday as they are all but confirmed to be relegated to League One.
Points deductions for going into administration and breaching EFL rules have left them rock-bottom of the Championship table.
Wednesday sit on -7 points and 37 points adrift of safety with 18 matches left to play.
Although relegation is set to be confirmed in the coming weeks, fans can have some cause for optimism over the future of their club.
Their administration has brought an end to the chaotic tenure of owner Dejphon Chansiri, who oversaw many financial problems.
As reported by the BBC, the preferred bidders for Wednesday are a consortium of James Bord, Felix Romer and Alsharif Faisal Bin Jamil.
